March Moments 2017

Hi guys,

So March is over and I thought I'd go through some of the things I've been loving. I apologise now, as this is probably going to be a bit random. But on we go!

The first thing I've really been loving is doing my eyebrows. Yep I went with random first, but hear me out! Makeup is something that I've been learning to love again. It had become so businesslike and standard in my routine that I stopped enjoying it. I was recently going through my makeup box, as I was going away for the weekend and the amount of items that had made their way into my makeup bag was ridiculous! Anyway, it was then that I stumbled across an eyebrow kit that I'd been given for Christmas and had completely forgotten about. I had an eyebrow pencil that I always used and that was all I needed, but alas, little did I know of the world of eyebrow powder! It is the way forward! Now I can't go a day without filling in my eyebrows!

The next thing is also makeup related. It NYX Butter Lipstick. As I said before, I've been in such a rut with my makeup that nothing ever changed. I recently went into town and popped into the big Boots store and so much has changed! I've not been in absolutely ages (I used to work there) and they now sell new brands. I'm always hearing about how good NYX is, so I thought I'd head over and pick out some new lip products and one of them was the Butter Lipstick. It is so soft on the lips, it's like applying lip balm. It is also subtle enough for everyday wear. I went for a relatively neutral shade, but it still has a pink tint to it, which I really like.

My Balcony Garden

Something I've started enjoying over the past year, is gardening. I don't know how it started, as I live in a third floor flat, but I blame Youtube! I just love watching gardening videos. I find it relaxing. One of the channels that I enjoy watching is Lavender and Leeks. Last year I managed to grow quite a lot on my balcony in pots such as Carrots, Strawberries, Potatoes, Tomatoes, Mint, Lemon Balm and various flowers. This year is more fruit orientated as I helped my parents sort out their garden and managed to take home a few treats. The previous owners had planted Gooseberry bushes and a Rhubarb plant that looked as though it had been there longer than the house! As we pruned everything back, part of the Gooseberry bush came away, with a perfect root system, so I took it in the hopes that it would grow and it has! We also split the Rhubarb crown, as it was suffering from overcrowding, so I took a single crown and this has started growing too! Last year I had bought a Blueberry plant that I just stuck in some compost and nearly killed! Turns out Blueberry plants like ericaceous (acidic) soil! I only just managed to keep it alive by watering it with a Tomato feed solution. One of my proudest achievements of last year, was keeping that plant alive. Sad I know.

I have read some excellent books this month. But two really stand out for me, both of which I highly recommend! These are On The Other Side by Carrie Hope Fletcher and The Girl On The train by Paula Hawkins.

Mothers Day

And finally... this month it was Mothers Day. So to surprise my Mum, I traveled down south to spend the weekend with her. She had no idea I was coming and I got the biggest hug! Totally worth it, I love my Mum, she is such an inspiration to me.
We spent a lovely weekend at Escot House and had fun exploring the nearby countryside. Not to mention squeezing in a spot of book shopping in the charity shops!
It was blissful and makes me want to read Pride and Prejudice just thinking about it!

These are some of my favourite March Moments, I'd love to know what yours are! Let me know in the comments below!

Peace out! xxx
