Training Update (8 Weeks left)

So I've not been not doing very well recently. But I'm on a come back! I think I'm going to stick with exercising once a day though. I was maybe a tad ambitious with twice a day.

Monday 20th

When my alarm went off this morning at 5.45am, I couldn't work out what the noise was. Then it hit me. Gym time! Needless to say, I did not want to get out of bed. But I did it anyway, because I am determined to lose weight and the workouts are actually helping my knee quite a bit. I went for a run on Friday, after I said I wasn't going to do anything energetic. 1.6 miles. I was pretty pleased with that, especially as my knee didn't hurt afterwards, or the next day. But I do have a long way to go before I'll be running my Half Marathon! According to the plan, I'm meant to be running 3 miles tomorrow, which I'm hoping I'll be able to do!

Monday 27th

PT session tonight. Not looking forward to it. I missed last weeks.

Leg day. That is all.

Tuesday 28th

Running is my exercise of choice today! It went very well considering the problems I've had, but my left knee ached a little, but didn't hurt which is brilliant! However, I did get shin splits in my right leg... I just can't win. I must remember to stretch more! 

Saturday 1st April 

According to my original training plan I should have been running 6 miles today. However, as I've not really been following the plan so far, I thought I'd just see how far I could run. 

I managed 5.12miles in 1 hour, which I am pretty pleased with. I stopped to walk and stretch a few times, but I'm not far off where I should be, which is excellent! And I used my new foam roller (aka self torture implement) for some muscle care afterwards.

My only problem with today is that I ran in the rain and now it's a beautifully sunny day outside. Typical!

Sunday 2nd April

Today's running conditions were much better than yesterday's. It was a little cloudy, but there was no rain! Although I sometime enjoy running in the rain. Yes I know I'm strange. 

My training plan says that I should be doing an easy Run/walk of 3 miles. I did 2.89miles, as my knee was quite tight from yesterdays run. The Foam Roller helps a lot, but it's still not back to normal. I may have to go back to the physio.

I'd love to know if you've signed up to anything crazy recently and how it's going!
